Take the shake out Buck FeverNov 27, 2009 Let's face it, no matter how many big game animals you see your heart starts thumping and your breathing is labored. That's usually when you need to decide whether it's time to shoot or pass. Another common scenario is glassing out west and trying to decide if you should make a 1/2 mile stalk while straing to get a good view of the rack.
I assure you these things work. I have had mine for 4 or five years. I have two pairs of rechargable batteries. I don't think I have ever had to change fully charged batteries in the same day.
Where they are noticably lacking is low light at the very beginning and end of the day. My Nikon Monarchs are much better for those 10-15 minutes and that can be a big deal. I wish they had 10 x 40's. They already weigh more than regular bino's so adding a few ounces for improved low-light viewing would make them 5 star.
Good performance but unable to handle marine environmentNov 13, 2009 I knew these were not waterproof, but they don't seem to have any water resistance at all. Used them for 2 summers on the boat and the IS system stopped working. They didn't get dunked in water and the optics are fine; just being the salt air apparently was bad enough. And the estimated repair cost (out of warranty) is out of line with their cost.
So will try anther brand since their waterproof version is so much more expensive.

Bird watching heavenNov 08, 2009 I purchased Canon 10x30 Image Stabilization Binoculars w/Case, Neck Strap & Batteries binoculars for my wife. She has had many pairs of binoculars and now we are in the golden ages of our lives, she found the binoculars she had to be to heavy for walking around in the woods, not really clear and with slight tremors in her hands focusing was becoming an issue. The Canon 10x30 Image Stabilization Binoculars w/Case, Neck Strap & Batteries fit the bill for the perfect binoculars for her to bird watch with. Right after we got the binoculars we went into the woods for several hours and she was thrilled.
Well worth the priceOct 08, 2009 Even though I only own the binoculars for a few days, I'm very impressed.
The magnification is terrific without any distortions and the image stabilizer works great. Especially when viewing moving objects it makes an incredible difference. After owning a few less expensive binoculars, I was hesitant to spend the money, because I was not quite sure if the image stabilizer would make that much of a difference - it does.
The only downside that I would note is that it only came with lens caps for the back occulars??? Might have to contact Canon to find out if that is normal.
Really nice binocsSep 30, 2009 These are great binocs. The image stabilization affects the quality and ability to focus a bit but it works very well.
I like the design very much and the carrying case is good.
I am totally satisfied with my purchase and the delivery
