 Classic watch, great featuresJun 19, 2010
This watch is a pretty old model now, but it's everything I love about Casio watches in one unit. It's small with a '90s look, the display is clearly readable. it shows time (with seconds), date, and day of week in a nice minimalist layout (it doesn't have the cluttered face that most digital watches seem to these days).
It has a lot of features that are minor but show attention to usability: The Adjust button must be held for three seconds to change the time, which prevents accidental button presses. It beeps when you cycle through modes, and beeps with a higher tone when you go all the way around back to time. The dual time zone feature is great for people that deal with web servers and applications a lot - I have the second time zone set to UTC for easy reference. It has an hourly chime and alarm option. The timer has convenient features like countdown tones (the watch beeps at 20 minutes left, 15 minutes left, 10 minutes left, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1) and automatic repeat. Finally, the automatic light feature seemed like a gimmick to me at first, but it's actually very useful.
This is absolutely my favorite digital watch. it's cheap and it's wonderful.
Simple, practical and an excellent valueMay 01, 2010
I just got rid of a competitor's watch that had more gimmicks and was almost twice as thick. This watch is light on the wrist and does everything I need (time, alarm, stop watch, count down) with easy to read display. It's hard to believe how little something like this costs.

I have had this watch for four and half years and I would give this watch 10 stars!! I bought this watch in Walmart just before an extended mountain hiking trip. I wear it everyday and it is excellent!! It's been to the top of mountains, the bottom of pools, in the surf at the beach, in the board room, the gym, on the boat, in freezing cold and blazing heat. It is very easy to use and very comfortable to wear. It is not too big or bulky. It is not heavy either. It will work fine for ladies as well (unisex) because it is on the smaller side. The band will work for very small to medium large wrists. Having the button to activate the light on the front makes it very easy to see the time in the dark. For instance, it is very easy to operate the button to see the time when driving, at the movies, etc. The stop watch is excellent as is the count down timer. I am amazed at how durable this watch has been. The buttons always work without sticking. The bezel does not scratch easily. I am still on the original battery too! A GREAT watch!!!!

An unpretentious quality watchDec 13, 2009
I've been through a few Casio watches over the last 25 years. I've bought this model a couple of times and it's the watch I currently wear. While I could easily afford a fancier timepiece, I really just want to know what time it is. This watch does the job. It will go for months without needing a correction. I doubt that any watch keeps noticeably better time than this. The stopwatch feature is also occasionally useful. Fine watch if you don't need to show off.

At least two people have given this a low rating. I don't understand it. The resin/plastic used on this model is no different than their other models. The same kind that other brands have adopted based on Casio's great example. The pins do not "break" on this watch. I actually believed that review. Then I tried breaking them off myself with a hammer. No luck. (Try it yourself if you don't believe me.) This plastic is the toughest thing next to steel, as far as watch materials are concerned. In some ways I like it even better than steel. (It's much lighter.) An amazing value, like many of Casio's watches.
