Worst camera EVER!Aug 31, 2010 This is the worst camera I have ever owned. I have sent it back twice trying to get multiple problems fixed, and they just keep sending me back the same camera. It is a short amount of time before I have another problem. I can usually take 5 pictures before the fully charged battery dies and the camera shuts off. After I take a picture, it can take 30 seconds before can take another picture because the screen says "processing". I can't say enough negative things about this camera. WORST CAMERA EVER!!!!
M1033 Jammed UpAug 07, 2010
i rated it a 3star, but actually it did not work for me ... when i contacted an online Kokak representative to walk me through the instructions to change the date and time, her instructions did not work either ... ultimately, she said the 'bottons were damaged' ... so i had to return it. my cousin has this camera and it works beautifully for her ... the pics are great, the video is great, i especially liked that it has a 3" display, however, i could not get mine to work and when i went to buy another i could not find one, so i went to Kodak and they said they were no longer making that model and suggested M550, so i got that one, but the display is smaller and you cannot hear the sound when you play back a video, but the pictures are okay, not great, but okay ... it was about $50 less than the M1033, so i guess you get what you pay for.
Kodak m1033 - goes on then shuts offMay 19, 2010 I liked the picture quality but the battery life was short, so I purchased a backup battery. A year and a half later it turns on, then shuts down. I tried what Kodak support suggested, to plug to electricity bypassing battery with no luck. They estimate it will cost $80 to fix, and that doesn't make me happy, since I didn't use it very much in the year and a half I owned it. My husband's Canon is much older and reliable. I do not recommend this purchase if you want a product with reliability and longevity.
Good camera for the $$$May 13, 2010 I really like this camera. It may not be the best camera out there, but for the price it's a pretty good deal. It takes better pictures than the previous Olympus 8MP camera I had.
In less than 6 months, it has had to be sent back for service multiple timesFeb 26, 2010 This camera is very easy to use and takes good pictures and video when it actually works. The smart features helps even a novice like me take nice clear pictures with little to no red eye pictures. It is small and looks nice too.
Then the bad -- I had the camera for about 3 months when it started. I had the exact same issue that some others wrote about - I wished I would have read more reviews before getting this camera but my husband wanted a Kodak since it is USA made. After about 3 months of use - not a lot of use, mind you - the camera lens would not retract back into the camera and it wouldn't hold a charge. I got a new battery thinking that was it - nope. I ended up sending it back to Kodak. The 1st time it went back, I reported the issue online and was able to return it without having to call customer service. Since it only worked for about 1 week after I got it back, I had to call the 800 customer service number. Not fun times. Kodak - made in the USA - appears to have outsourced their customer service to another country. I had a lot of trouble trying to explain that it still was having the same issues even though I had just gotten it back, sigh. Finally I said, please just let me return it for servicing. Lots of quiet on the other end and me saying, hello, hello, are you still there ? Finally the man on the phone agrees to let me send it back for servicing for the 2nd time - that took more than 20 minutes phone time - and I sent it back again. The group that serviced it was very responsive and sent it back within a week - but having this happen again for the 3rd time - same problem - is why I say no to this camera. It is currently working but I haven't used it much thinking it's going to die any minute. Kodak will not replace my faulty camera with a new camera I was told (if this continues before the warranty runs out) -- only a refurbished model.
