nice for the priceJul 23, 2010 for the price i bought this camera i think i would be able to buy a canon or something... it is really cute and but night pictures not really good...
good while it lastsJul 12, 2010 i've had the nikon s210 for just over a year and it worked great, took good pictures and had awesome zoom capability. now i have the "lens error" problem that everyone else with this camera seems to have. i looked up all of the troubleshooting ideas online and after trying them, it still won't work. granted, i have been less than gentle with this camera and it still lasted me a year, but the lens issue seems to be a manufacturing problem that many people are complaining about.
Not great but ok for close up shots if your steadyJul 07, 2010 Really touchy when it comes to light, movement and certain media cards. Sold it off and moved to a a480 and haven't been happier with a purse sized camera.
Not Worth It - Buy Something ElseMay 03, 2010 I got this camera in December of 2008. It worked great for five months - most pictures were great, video is so-so for one of these cameras, and not really good for nighttime shots (though it is a point-and-shoot). But, five months after owning the camera, I turned it on and got a lens error. It seems that has happened to most everyone who uses this camera. It doesn't seem to matter how well you care for the camera, all of these Nikon S210s seem to get the lens error (I can't speak personally for other Nikon point-and-shoot or CoolPix models). I sent my camera to Nikon and got the lens replaced under warranty. They sent it back and about nine months later the exact same problem occurred and this time Nikon refused to fix it because it had been over six months.
The LENS ERROR appears to be inevitable so don't even bother with this camera - it is definitely not worth the trouble or expense. Nikon has good SLRs and that's what they should stick to.
Not impressed at allFeb 24, 2010 I have taken this camera to concerts...pictures come out horrible. I even tried it on various settings (indoor, sports, nightscape, museum, firework, etc)...every single one came out blurry, distorted and really ruined the concert effect I was trying to save. I also tried zooming all the way, zoom 1/2 way and no zoom...all the images came out horrible. I am going back to Canon.
