3good for the price... but you pay for what you getDec 13, 2009
Good looking laptop and I got it new at a great price ($800) a year ago. Will do the job, but don't expect to use it for memory-taxing activities. I added 2GB RAM, but still video and even photo editing run slow. Forget videogames with this computer. But, if you use it mostly to write and search the Internet, like I do, this laptop will be just fine. The most annoying aspect is the control touch pad, which gets stuck frequently. I updated the driver, even reformatted the whole system, but the problem is still there. To avoid issues, I have to use an external mouse.

3Mostly a good laptopAug 13, 2008
I have had this laptop for a few months now. It is very pretty right out of the box, but the glossy finish on EVERYTHING - including the keyboard is a problem. The keys are slick and every fingerprint shows on the laptop case and keyboard and there is a lot of glare on the screen because it is shiny. Also, it does not shut down properly at times and will not wake up from sleep mode sometimes. At those times I have to disconnect the power and remove the battery for a few seconds before it will act right again. Then I am good for a couple of weeks before it happens again. If you put any pressure on the bottom of the laptop under the DVD drive while it is working it makes alarming noises, like you are pinching the spinning disc. Other than that, it seems fine and it's small size and light weight are big plusses.
