Personality disorder diagnostic errors such as eating disorders

The patient with eating disorder maintains a distorted image of their bodies as too fat or something bad (it may be dysmorphic disorder of the body). Many patients with eating disorders are found in occupations where body shape and the selected image (eg ballet student actors, models) can be.
The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) IV-TR (2000) (p. 584-5):
“(Patients with personality disorders exhibit) feelings of ineffectiveness, a strong desire for the environment, inflexible thinking, limited social spontaneity, perfectionism and over-cautious (must show bulimics to a larger trend) and the initiative controls the expression of feelings … impulse control problems, alcohol or other drugs show mood changes (have) an increased incidence of suicide attempts. ” Read more »
